About Me
As a former professional performer, it has been a necessary part of my life to have a body that is structurally fit and a mind that is relaxed, open and creative. Pilates has been my exercise of choice.
My approach to teaching Pilates is holistic and I believe that the mind/body connection is vitally important. My group sessions normally have 3 – 6 people per group because it is essential to me that I give everyone the individual attention they deserve. I use visualisations, suggestions, verbal and physical guidance. Attention to detail, and to the breathing, enhance and deepen the Pilates experience for all my participants. I will use adaptions and progressions, as appropriate, for each individual to ensure that everyone is able to feel a full sense of participation.
My qualifications include a BA in Performing Arts, PGCE and I am a Level 3 Teacher of Pilates. I am a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) and have been teaching now for 10 years. I love the way that Pilates can transform bodies and lives with its integration of mind/body movements: breath with concentration; alignment; relaxation; engagement of the deep structural/core muscles; rehabilitative ethos.
